Flasher Fiction Friday - Omens #flashfiction

Breezes made her gown and train tremble. The warm salty air pulled at her long dark hair, threatening to free it from the arrangement that had been carefully tied in place. Brilliant blossoms filled her hand, an offering to the man waiting for her a sign of life and living.
Daryl waited for her, barefoot in the sand.

The breeze shifted and she turned with it. Birds alit from a skeletal tree, barely surviving amid the salty sand and rocks. The birds flew past her, narrowly missing her head, and she bent back, dropping bouquet and surrendering to the omen.
