For those who are wondering what Once Bitten Twice Shy is about, here’s a little taste…
Blurb: In the days following their kidnapping, Krissy and Derek’s rest comes to an abrupt end with one phone call. Derek’s ex-girlfriend has just arrived from England, and she wants her man back.

Aubree is not a woman who gives up easily, and it doesn’t take long for her to play dirty. The tables are turned, however, when the wolf takes offense.

Can Derek stop his canine self from hurting his former flame?
Who is the mysterious stranger on his way to Derek’s apartment?
Will Krissy and Derek ever get to lead a normal life?

Excerpt:
Thankful the blinds were up today, he had a good view up the street and noticed a tall
businesswoman who looked incredibly attractive. A few moments later, as she came closer, he realized it was Krissy. Without thinking, he smiled in pure delight He managed to resist the urge to wave, though, as he wanted Krissy’s appearance kept from Aubree until she was right with them.
“Ahem.” A little cough at his side announced Darla’s return, and she placed the plates on the table, along with a little pot of whipped cream. Derek noticed the look of daggers she gave Aubree as she straightened up and walked back toward the counter, only to bump into Krissy, who had just entered the small diner.
About time, I was about to send a search party, Derek joked across the link. Now that he knew they had such a connection, he planned on using it as much as he could. A sarcastic tilt of her head had him chuckle.
“What is so funny,” Aubree asked as she tucked into her slice of pie.
“Oh, just thinking,” Derek replied.
“Of what?” she demanded.
“Of me,” came Krissy’s voice from over Aubree’s shoulder. “Good morning, darling.” She beamed at Derek as he slid across to give her room next to him. They greeted each other with a tender kiss, slightly longer than necessary.
Pulling out of the kiss, the couple looked across the table at the intruder, who was fuming mad and it showed clearly on her red-suffused face.
“Jealousy is not a good look on you, honey,” Krissy contritely quipped, gently smiling at the woman who thought herself a competitor.
For the third time in only a few minutes Darla returned to the table with the coffee pot, a clean mug, and another plate of pie for Krissy. “Oh, thank you! Just what the doctor ordered.”
Derek silently applauded Krissy’s composure in the face of Aubree’s clear fury. “The pie is especially good today, sweetheart,” he told Krissy, winking at the pleasure on Darla’s face. Turning to Aubree he decided to make the introductions, however obvious and pointless they may be. “So, my dear, here is my former lover from England, Aubree. You know the one who stomped on my heart when it was in need of some comfort. Aubree, this is Krissy, the woman who is currently giving my heart all the tender loving care it needs, and then some.” Wrapping his arm around Krissy’s shoulders, he sighed with content.
Are you sure it’s wise to provoke her like this? Krissy asked, clearly unsure of Aubree’s reaction.
Sweetheart, if she tries anything, the wolf would strongly object. I’m not saying I would let him loose on the woman, but I’d let him show his teeth. Her chuckle was his reward and the animal howled again with delight.

There is a Facebook event happening over this whole weekend to celebrate the release of Once Bitten Twice Shy. There are author take overs, giveaways and two grand prizes up for grabs. Just head on over here and join in the fun!

Thursday Taster - Gentleman #19

More discoveries about Blue Moon House in today's taster. Check out the blog for many more.

She closed it again when they were in the hall. “Poor thing. She's scared spitless by white men. If she'd had any idea who you are, she'd likely have run from here.” Lynn shook her head at Kendra's plight.
“Charity?” Harrold asked.
“Of a sort,” Lynn said, nodding. “In her case, obedience is a reflex. I'm hoping by using that, I can open her eyes. Maybe break the habit.”
“That wouldn't be wise, would it? You wouldn't want her punished by her new owner.”
“No, no,” Lynn agreed, leading Harrold into the kitchen. It was empty at this hour. “But I want her to consider and be unafraid. She won't be a slave forever.”
Harrold nodded. There was a movement toward paying black servants rather than owning slaves. Of course, those servants were rarely treated better than the slaves. Lynn seemed to know that.
“Mostly, I want to shed her fear of her body. She was mistreated, as I expect you've guessed.”
“By her 'boss man.'”
“Another negro, if you can imagine, told her her body was the fruit of hell and he would fuck the devil out of her.” Lynn squeezed an apple in her hand until the skin split and juice ran down her fingers. “If I ever lay hands on him.”
Harrold touched her elbow, taking the piece of fruit. It wasn't old or withered, rather one of the new crop. How strong was she?
She looked at the mangled apple, then at him, and changed the subject. “You did well in there. You enjoyed it?”
He stuttered. “Yes, uh, yes.” He felt his face flush in embarrassment though he wasn't sure what embarrassed him? Dallying with a black girl? Certainly not being with two women at once.
“Good, because if you continue to come when you aren't scheduled, you will meet more of my clients.”
That word again, clients. “Do you expect payment?” He patted pockets, searching for his bill fold.
She waved him off. “No. We are sufficient for now. I might accept your offer later.”
“But...This is a whorehouse. How do you pay for things?”
“We are much more than we appear,” she said, maintaining an air of mystery.
Harrold's fingers played with the mangled apple. “I have no doubt about that.”

Harrold, she makes me right giddy most days.” Her smile, something he had little enjoyed in the past, seemed to beam. “Like the beautiful girl I married,” he said, chucking a finger under her chin and kissing her lips lightly. “You have no idea how happy I am to see you so.”
She blushed a little and tried to pick up her fork again. Harrold stopped her, holding her hand.
“I do want to watch you tonight. I can sit somewhere you are less likely to see me, on the side rather than the foot. Would that work?” Veronica began to tremble again. “I suppose that might work. Harrold, I'm scared of what you'll think when you see me...in that state.” He felt himself twitch in his pants. “Veronica, I have waited years to see you in that state. I have longed to see it. Believe me when I say you will be even more beautiful in my eyes.”
She blushed again. “How can you love me so when I have returned so little care to you?”
“Because when we were young, I saw the warm heart you cased in ice. I've known it was there all along, waiting for the right hand to melt it again.”
“Who knew it would be a black one!” she said with a laugh.

Tantalizing Tuesday - Soon

Up and down, up and down. The impact is low and I barely move, just enough to match my breath, enough to make me sleepy. It stops and I perk up. It’s louder than I expected, louder than I like. My blood seems hotter, faster. Something is happening, and it should be familiar, but it’s just a little different. Usually that pulsing is distant, but now it pushes right into my temple and I don’t like it one bit. Closing my hand into a fist, I lash out once and then drop it back to my side. That’s just enough to trigger the response I need.
The pressure eases and I think maybe I can sleep again. The voices are quiet now, soft and happy. This is the best time. I never sleep at this time. The voices mingle with music and I shift and slide with the rhythm, a rhythm I can feel all around me, through me. For a moment, my whole world is music and feet can’t help but move along.
“Here, come here.”
“What?”
“Feel this.”
The music is still there, but it has been dampened. I wait a moment and then kick again.
“Soon, baby.”

If that was confusing, I was going for in utero thoughts and sensations. I know, way out there, but hey, that's the fun of this writing thing, IMO. Check out the other teasers. I can't promise they won't be as strange, but I can promise you'll enjoy reading them.

Beautiful Shadows is a full length novel, chock-full of BDSM, from Scarlett Rush. It’s to be the ride of their lives: a chance to join heavy metal giants Thunderhead on the European leg of their world tour. It is to be done the old-fashioned way too – all sex, drugs, and rock’n’roll. For pleasure-addict Sindee it is the chance to get her big break and live out her hedonistic vision of absolute indulgence. But she is unaware that Cas Casanove, one of the biggest rock stars on the planet, thinks that she might well be the girl of his dreams. He is a fighter and a rebel, a charismatic titan who nobody would suspect of having a softer side – until Sindee comes along. He could be perfect – if only the woman on his arm was not his wife.

Here is an excerpt from Beautiful Shadows.

To think that I have a kick to the head to thank for my current position. I am primarily a designer of clothes by trade, although I do a bit of painting on the side – portraits and landscapes that is, not walls and ceilings. None of this should be too surprising when you consider that I studied Art and Design at college. At age 15, I thought I was set to become a world-renowned taekwondo-ist. Not a taekwondo-er, note. I was at a level where competing abroad in the juniors was becoming a distinct possibility. I rather fancied the prospect, even if it did mean a life of wearing what amounted to a stiff pyjama suit, and having one’s hair always tied back tightly and unflatteringly, with perhaps a few stray strands plastered to your sweaty, ruddy, puffed-out cheeks. Still, there is something intrinsically adrenaline pumping and even romantic about booting people willy-nilly while having Korean barked at you.
Then one day, stupidly, my trainer came to the party minus his head protector, and with a rather too exuberant jumping reverse hook kick, I managed to break my big toe upon his jaw, thus rendering myself inactive for weeks. My recovery might have been speedier if I hadn’t declared myself fit enough, if not for fighting then certainly for partying, and worn a particularly challenging shoe on a night out. Indeed the footwear failed to rise to the challenge of getting me to the bottom of a flight of stairs in one piece, and I was back to square one. I hadn’t intentionally hung up my dobok but other things just got in the way.
During my incapacitation I looked to my art as a means to escape tedious hours normally spent fighting. I used to do a lot of pencil sketches, primarily of female forms. In truth it became something of an obsession. Having been caught doing this once or twice I contrived a hasty cover story, claiming it was for my clothing designs, explaining that you had to understand the female figure perfectly before you put one’s garments upon it. Quite why I needed such intricate fanny detail remained unexplained. So, anyway, I then took to overlaying coloured clothing designs over my pencil nudes almost as an excuse to keep drawing them. After a while the clothing bit started to take over and I decided it was clearly where my future lay. If it hadn’t been for my trainer’s selfish decision not to wear protective garments I would still be wearing thick white pyjamas to this day and I’d probably be the proud owner of a shiny gold Olympic medal or two.
During my last year at college I was doing work experience for a small freelance design team in the city, and that is where fate visited the incomparable Elowen upon me. She was a little older than I, infinitely more awesome, and exquisitely feminine in a way that had me rapidly and permanently consigning any of those remaining tomboyish tendencies of mine straight to the rubbish bin. Her speciality was fetish-wear, particularly in rubber and latex. She had carved out a particular niche, being the go-to designer music video producers called on when they wanted their nubile singers or dancers to look beyond outstanding. Nothing she created was ever less than stunning. See her outfits and you saw her very spirit.
I wasn’t prepared for love. I had been kicked in the chest a fair few times but I had never known anything there like this impact. I felt like one of those Mexican cliff divers, leaping hundreds of feet down into the blue waters of Acapulco, except that I was plummeting into a sea of infatuation. Spectacular and breath-stopping it most certainly was, but no matter how expert the entry, it was always going to hurt – and by golly it did. She was a lithe Goth firecracker, all jet-black hair and make-up and tattoos. My goodness – those tattoos! All down her arms; a stunning Japanese scene in red and black down her side to her hip; Audrey Hepburn above Beatrice Dalle on her right shoulder blade and Bardot as a young, sleek brunette on her left. It was like her body was alive. The pièce de résistance was the tiny, ever-so intricate black scorpion on the top of her left cheek, just diagonally down from her eye. The memory alone of this still has my belly fluttering.

Thursday Taster - Gentleman #18

Kendra gets a rest and Lynn and Harrold discuss Blue Moon House. More tasters on the blog.

Kendra squirmed on his face as he and Lynn played with the girl until she begged them to let her rest. Harrold respectfully ceased immediately. Lynn, however, continued to play with her, working two fingers and her thumb. Harrold slid out from beneath Kendra, who seemed about to fall over, eyes fluttering.
Watching her sway, and being ever a gentleman, Harrold sat behind the slave, letting her torso rest on him. Lynn smiled at this, using another finger to open Kendra.
“Please. Too...too much.” She leaned heavily on Harrold and then arched, thrusting her hips out. Lynn pushed in as far as she was able, holding the girl until her hips sank again. No sooner had her bottom touched the floor than Lynn fucked with her fingers again, slowly at first.
Harrold felt pity for Kendra. “Hasn't she earned a rest?”
Lynn laughed. “She knows how to make me stop. Don't you, pretty girl?” Her fingers moved faster and a scream tore from Kendra.
Rather than her name, which Harry had expected, Kendra said. “Milk.” She huffed, “Milk fat.”
Lynn removed her hand and patted Kendra's cheek. “Feel better, my dove?”
She was still panting, but nodded.
“Harrold, please lay her on the bed.” As he scooped the girl up, Lynn entered the adjoining closet and returned with a wet cloth. She carefully cleaned between Kendra's legs, then flipping the cloth, set it over her eyes. Lynn gestured to Harrold's clothes and he dressed while she found her robe again. She waited at the door, opening it when he was finished.
She closed it again when they were in the hall. “Poor thing. She's scared spitless by white men. If she'd had any idea who you are, she'd likely have run from here.” Lynn shook her head at Kendra's plight.

Check out the blog.
