“Do you really not date?” Jack leaned closer, his gaze locked to Rosie’s. “I find that hard to believe.”
“Believe it.” Rosie tried to squirm backward and hit the arm of the sofa. Trapped. She could get up and move to the armchair, but it was way over there and Jack was right here.
“What about serious relationships? Have you had many of those?” Jack inched closer until their thighs brushed. Tingles shuddered up and down Rosie’s spine. His voice thrummed liquid sex. Why had she never noticed before?
“No,” she admitted. “What about you?” Wow. Her voice sounded laced with whiskey. And passion. Dial it down! Don’t ask about his love life! Doing that was a direct path to his personal life, which was none of her damn business. Or at least it shouldn’t be. But, damn, a man like him? His past must be littered with beautiful women. The million dollar question was why none of them were with him right now.
“I haven’t had a serious relationship since Maryann Montgomery senior year in high school. We were going to get married as soon as we graduated,” he said, his thigh pressing into hers distractingly. “Then her father got transferred to Ohio, and I never saw her again. Story of my life. I get to thinking I’ve got something special and fate steps in and says, ‘Oh, no. Sorry. She’s going to drop out of college and move back home. Or decide your best friend’s more interesting.’”
“No way could your best friend be more interesting than you. Unless he was like, George Clooney or something.” Breathing would be a nice thing to be able to do, but somehow all the air had been sucked out of the room. Maybe if she could look away from Jack’s eyes, but, no, why would she ever do that?
Jack chuckled. “No, just a guy with way more money and the ability to hold a job longer than six months. Funny how some women like that stability thing. I’ve never understood all the hype myself.”
“Home is important,” Rosie said. What would he do if she leaned forward and gave his lower lip just the tiniest little nip? “But sometimes we forget people can be home just as much as four walls and a door can.”
“So says the woman who won’t let me drive the squad because she knows every dirt road and byway for fifty miles.” Jack leaned forward so their mouths were so close she could feel his warm breath on her lips.
I drive the squad, Great Eagle,” Rosie whispered. Oh, what the hell! Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Before her better judgment could prevail, she closed the distance between their mouths and kissed him. Damn! Shock waves of desire coursed throughout her body. When he brought his hands up to cup her face, she thought she might die. Why did he have to be so perfect? She ought to be able to find at least one thing wrong with him. But, no. Nothing he did was wrong.
She nibbled his lower lip, and he groaned, opening his mouth so their kiss deepened. Rosie’s heart hammered. Electric tingles leaped everywhere he touched her. He tugged on the band holding her braid tight until it fell to the floor. Frantically, he undid the plait until he could run his fingers through her unbound hair.
She plunged her hands into his dark hair. So soft and feathery.
Their kiss turned urgent with need. She moved her hands to his hips so she could pull his tee shirt out of the waistband of his jeans and slide her hands up. Muscles. All the damn muscles.
“God damn, Jack.” She groaned into his mouth.
“Right back at you, Rosie.” He gently moved one of her tank top straps from her shoulder and placed his mouth to the bare skin he exposed. Kissed his way to her neck, rubbing one thumb in small circles on the other side of her throat.
She threw her head back, giving him complete access. They shifted so she lay on the sofa with her back propped against the arm, and he straddled her. The press of his erection against her belly produced a dizzying, erotic sensation that spread over her entire body. He pushed her tank top up to her neck, exposing her bra. Thank God she’d decided to wear one of her sexier bras that made the most of her cleavage and didn’t scream Support Only.
He bent to take one fabric-covered nipple between his teeth, and gave it a gentle tug. Rosie clutched at his broad shoulders for dear life. Finding the front fastening, he gave it a twist and her breasts spilled into his waiting hands.
He rolled his thumbs across her nipples, making her squirm, then braced one hand on the sofa arm so he could lean down and kiss her.
“I want to be inside you so bad, Rosie,” he confessed, his breath ragged with need. “What do you want?”
A nagging voice inside her head cautioned her to put on the brakes. He was her partner. This was freaking madness. What happened when they broke up, but still had to work together? God, she didn’t want to regret this night. If only time didn’t have to march onward and every second could be right now, right here.
Opening her mouth to tell him they needed to slow down, she heard herself say in that whiskey-laced passion voice she hadn’t known she possessed, “Please tell me you have condoms.”

For Cortney, signing on the dotted line was a no brainer. All she had to do was agree to spend a month getting to know a phoenix shifter—if she was a suitable match—and her student loans were paid. With one in fifty thousand odds, it was a risk she was willing to take. She hadn’t counted on being that one in fifty thousand, or on Draven being so sexy. Resisting his charms wouldn’t be easy, but at the end of the month, she would walk away. Debt free.

When one of Draven’s young phoenixes ends up dead in a hospital emergency room, Draven has to act fast. Otherwise, human lives will go up in flames—literally. A rising phoenix isn’t harmful to their kind, but to humans it is deadly. But when a spitfire of a nurse steps in and refuses to let him through, his whole world changes. Any other day, nothing would have stopped him, but the longer she’s in his presence, the brighter her aura shines. She’s not only a suitable mate—she’s his.

Élianne Adams, is a self-proclaimed tropical climate Princess, so how she managed to be born and live in snowy Ontario, Canada is a complete mystery. She loves to read (and write) romances that lure you into different worlds, the kinds that suck you in until the very end. Her paranormal romance books feature sexy as sin fire breathing dragons, gryphons, phoenixes, and jaguars.

If those sexy Alpha shifters aren’t quite up your alley, she’s also got wolves coming soon.
Hi there, it’s such a pleasure to be here speaking with you today. Thank you for having me and letting me rattle on about my work.

Tell us about your title featured in this set:
My contribution to Coming in Hot is called Burn Deep. It’s a paranormal medical romance, and I had a blast writing it. I probably had a bit of an advantage with this one since my evil day job is in the health care field, so writing it only took me a little over a month. It was so much fun that I plan on making this one into a series.

Tell us something about yourself:
What can I say about myself that won’t bore you all to tears? Well, I live in a small-ish town in Northern Ontario with my husband (my very own real life hero, though he doesn’t sprout fur or scales when he’s angry) and children. We have three pets, two cats, and an elderly dog. Although this story is about phoenix shifters, I also write about wolves, large cats (coming next year), angels and demons, and of course, dragons! I adore dragons!

Tell us about your writing process:
One thing I cannot have while I’m writing is noise. I get distracted by the smallest thing. If someone is watching television in the same room, I tend to look up and watch (yes, even commercials – and I’ll admit, it annoys the heck out of me). I like to write in the mornings, but that’s not always possible. Especially during summer break, so I grab the time I need when I can get it. Funny thing that I finally figured out while writing Burn Deep was that when I get hung up on my story and the words don’t seem to want to come to me, if I grab spiral notebook and pen, the words flow again. And amazingly, my word count isn’t a whole lot slower on paper than it is on the keyboard. Of course, then I have to transcribe what I’ve written, but at least the small writer’s block has been avoided, and the story can continue.

What is your favourite genre to read?
That’s a tough question. I read just about anything. One of my favourite books of all time is The Diary of Anne Frank. I remember reading it in grade school, and for the first time in my life, the story the book told tugged on my heart strings. I can tell you that my love of reading developed after reading that story. Now, having said that, I will freely admit that I’m a romance reader through and through. I love all genres of romance. I adore paranormal romance and will always read those, but I also read sci-fi romance. A new favourite of mine is m/m romance. I never thought I’d enjoy it, but after reading a few exceptionally well written ones, I’m hooked!

What would you say is the one thing are you most passionate about?
Outside of the writing world? My family. Hands down. My life revolves around my husband and children. Now if you’re talking about within the writing world, then I’d have to say it’s helping other authors get their books out there. I think the romance author’s world is amazing in this aspect. I have yet to meet (in person, or online) a romance author who wasn’t genuine and happy to help a fellow author out. I often work with other authors to promote and cross promote stories, and most of the time, it’s the reader who benefits with free reads and awesome gifts. J

When you are not writing, what do you like to do?
Boy, that’s a tough one. I’m always writing. Lol Honestly, life has been so busy over the past couple of years that I don’t honestly know how to answer that. Between doing renovations on our house in preparation for a big move (hopefully sooner rather than later), writing, and my evil day job, there is little time left in a day. Mind you, once we do move, I plan on making writing my full time career, so I’m really looking forward to that.
I can tell you the things I enjoy doing and wish I did more of. Other than the usual spending time with my family, I absolutely love being out in the woods. If I could have a cabin by a lake with all the things I’d need for survival, I’d be a happy camper.

If someone who hasn’t read any your books Asked you to describe your story in this set (the elevator pitch!) what would you say?
Burn Deep is a super-hot phoenix shifter medical romance story.
Draven, the head of a phoenix shifter clan, goes into the hospital emergency room to remove one of his clan mates who has perished and will rise again in a blaze that will not only threaten to burn the building to the ground, but endanger human lives as well.
Cortney, a nurse, stands up to him and stops him from going in. This is where the story begins. When Cortney’s aura changes color, Draven knows she’s not only a suitable phoenix shifter mate—she’s his. After lifetimes alone, he’s thrilled to have found her and invokes the Phoenix Mates Acquisition Contract, which stipulates that a woman found to be a mate match must spend thirty days with the phoenix shifter to see if they are compatible.
Draven is determined to convince her to stay past the thirty days, and Cortney is just as resolved to return to her career once her time is up. But things are never that simple. Shifter mates are rare, and there are others out there who would do anything to get their hands on his mate. All Draven has to do is convince her that he’s worth sticking around for, and keep her safe.

Thank you so much for having me here today. It’s been a real pleasure working on this set with all these amazing authors. I can’t wait for it to be released to the world.
Cortney’s heart slammed against her ribs. The Alpha? Crap. Could things get any more intense? It wasn’t a regular phoenix her body had betrayed her for, no, it was the damned Alpha. Now all the phoenixes in the Odyssey would scrutinize her every move, and each word she said. Maybe she’d just hole up in his apartment, or cave, or wherever phoenixes lived, and not come out until her time was up. She snickered at the cave thing. Anyone who drove a car like that one, or that sweet looking bike, had to live somewhere better than a cave.

Before she could say anything else, Draven came up to her. “Ready? We’re taking the bike. Pretty boy here is too banged up to ride.”

“Can we get some of my things before we go? I’ll need some clothes and toiletries and stuff,” she asked him. Though for the life of her, she had no idea how the hell she would get a month’s supply of things in a bag small enough for her to carry on her back.

“We won’t be able to carry much with the bike, but we can grab what you need for right now, and I’ll bring you home to get more stuff tomorrow or the next day. Would that be alright?” he asked her, but there was no other option to be had.

“I could always just follow you in my car,” she suggested.

He immediately shook his head. “That wouldn’t be safe. They won’t recognize the vehicle.”

Cortney looked at Trista, who just shrugged. “Okay, so the bike it is.”

When they reached the vehicle, Draven handed her a helmet. “Have you ever ridden before? Do you need help with the helmet?”

“Not often, but yes, I’ve ridden before, and no, I don’t need help.” She sounded bitchy even to her own ears, but she couldn’t’ help it. Things were getting out of hand fast. She had the helmet secured over her head when he came close again and checked on the fit. He didn’t say a word as he pulled his own on and slipped the visor down.

Trista came over, her smile now gone. “You okay, Cort? You’re looking a little pale.”

She pulled Trista a few feet further from Draven. “No, not really. Have you seen how gorgeous he is? How the hell am I supposed to resist him? And now I have to have my body wrapped around him for God knows how long until we get there. What if that mate chemistry thing starts happening right away? Remember those articles we were reading last week? I’m going to be one of those women we were laughing about in those articles.”

Trista burst out laughing. “Dude, you have to chill. We’ll just take our vacation and come home. So you get to jump his bones while we’re there. If you ask me, that’s a mighty fine perk.”

A faint crackling sound came at her from the inside of the helmet. “It’s two and a half hours to the Odyssey,” Draven said, his voice, coming through the helmet, sounding way too much like laughter.

“Fuck my life,” she whispered under her breath as she glanced over, and sure enough, his shoulders were shaking. Not only did she have to hang on to him for two and a half hours, but now he knew she was worrying about it. Without even saying goodbye to Trista, she got on the bike. It was going to be a long month.

1. Candy
2. Crocheting
3. Reading
4. Her Puppy
5. Her Husband

She speaks with the dead.
He was cursed by them.

Four hundred years ago, a coven of dead witches stripped Caleb Jensen of his soul. Now, his only hope is to convince local necromancer, Autumn Kane, to track down and restore it before his eternal hunger consumes him. Beautiful, powerful, and confident, Autumn is more than Caleb bargained for.

Except, Autumn has problems of her own. The dead are crying for help. A serial killer has begun targeting the young brides of Salem, and she is the only one who can save them. She has no time to break the curse on this rakish man who steals her breath. Everything about him unsettles her, from his dark nature to his wicked allure. He’s no knight in shining armor.

But maybe it's time for a little evil in her life.
Just breathe.
Autumn stood outside the Hawthorne Hotel and shivered when a brisk, fall wind chased up her bare back. This certainly wasn’t how she’d imagined the beginning of her night. She’d barely stepped foot out of her car and people were already staring. For a moment, she debated her decision to attend stag. After she’d hung up the phone, she’d dressed and left for the party, too angry to wait for Riley and Lexi. Unfortunately, that meant there was no buffer between her and the gawkers.
A delicate chime came from the clutch she held under her arm. The third message her sister had sent her in the past fifteen minutes, not that she cared. If she intended to work tonight, she needed a clear mind, sans Riley. With a deep breath, Autumn smoothed down the front of her dress, ignoring that her fingers brushed flesh where a plunging neckline artfully draped down to her navel. Certainly not the impression she’d intended to make. At least now she knew never to trust her sister with her wardrobe again.
Now or never, she assured herself.
The doors opened, and from within came the heavy beat of music. Seemed as though the party was already well under way.
Autumn slipped into the ballroom and paused to take it in. Every year the Festival of the Dead put on a ball. This year’s theme was a masquerade, and they’d decorated accordingly. The center of the room had been cleared for the dance floor, and the tables were adorned with black fabric and grotesque centerpieces, all in the name of Halloween. Ochre lights hung from the ceiling and glimmered against the painted walls. They always outdid themselves.
She perused the crowd, watching as they moved in sync to the music, their faces hidden by a series of beautiful masks. Wonderment filled her stomach when she realized she didn’t recognize anyone. The knowledge filled her with courage. They’d know her eventually when they sought her out to summon the dead. But for now, it seemed she could enjoy the anonymity.
A few turned to watch as she entered, but she brushed their attentiveness aside and instead started toward the hors d’œuvres. She couldn’t help but chuckle at the sight of the Halloween-themed snacks from pumpkin cheese balls to monster cookies.
“Quite the selection,” a voice murmured next to her.
Autumn glanced up with a polite smile. Her gaze tracked up a lean length, taking note of the pristine suit that boasted a muscular physique, but it wasn’t until she caught sight of his startling green gaze shining out from behind a golden mask that she gasped.
Him.
Hell, she’d dreamed of those eyes all night, watching her from amidst the shadows. She took a closer look, her heart sputtering against her chest when she recognized Sadie’s soul. Her hip slammed into the table when she staggered backward.
“Shh, easy now,” he murmured, his hand gripping her elbow and steadying her.
Autumn flicked a glance around the room, noting Dawson and her ex-husband patrolling the far side of the room.
His fingers tensed around her elbow. “Don’t be frightened.”
“You.”
“Me,” he said, nodding.
“I thought you were detained.”
“Funny how the law works. Turns out they can’t detain you when you’re innocent.”
She blinked up at him, startled by the handsome sight. Who the hell was this man? Then his words clicked. “What?”
“I said, I’m innocent. They can’t detain me if I haven’t done anything wrong.”
“You ate Sadie!” she exclaimed, wincing when her voice rose above the music.
His face twisted into a grimace. “Wow. That sounded…”
“Sorry,” she mumbled. “I wasn’t thinking.”
“For the record, I am not a serial killer.”
“No, just a soul-eater.”
He paused, shock widening his eyes as though he hadn’t expected her to put two and two together.
“Necromancer, remember? Did you think I wouldn’t know what you are?”
“I hadn’t given it much thought, truthfully.” He regarded her, his gaze unflinching. “I assure you, though, I’m not here to cause any trouble.”
Autumn’s attention dropped to his mouth, mesmerized by the enticing curve of his lips and his strong jawline. He shot her a smile, as though he knew the direction her thoughts had taken. Clearing her throat, she returned to the conversation. “I doubt that. I have a feeling you cause trouble wherever you go.”
“Ah, guilty,” he teased. “Life is too short to play by the rules.” He canted his head with a wide grin. “Well, too short for most.”
“But not you,” she said.
Autumn knew a little about his kind. Her father had come across one many years ago. She’d been thirteen at the time, so he hadn’t been willing to offer many details. The man had massacred multiple families before her father had managed to contain and destroy him. A soul-eater, her father had said, a creature so evil it fed off the souls of the living as a means of living an eternal life.
Her brow furrowed as she studied the man in front of him. Was he the same as the other? “Did you not notice all the police here tonight?”
That sinful mouth crooked. “Of course I did. Did you not notice my mask?”
Oh, she had. How could she have missed it? As though he wasn’t enigmatic enough, the ebony threads woven up into a beautiful leaf added a mysterious appeal. He’d darkened his skin beneath the mask, highlighting his emerald gaze.
He braved a step closer, and Autumn’s heart skipped a beat. She wanted to believe it was the primal rush of fear that had her pulse going, but if it were, she would have made for the nearest police officer. Instead, she tipped her head back and watched as he closed the distance between them.
“Dance with me.” Not a question, but a demand.
Autumn blinked. “What? You’re insane.”
“Possibly. But insane would be not asking you to dance.” He leaned in toward her. “You look so beautiful tonight.”
His words warmed her stomach, but still, she narrowed her eyes. “As opposed to every other night?”
Most men might have balked at such a response, but this one merely tilted his head as the corners of his mouth pulled up in amusement. “I don’t know, yet. Ask me again tomorrow.”
Autumn couldn’t help but chuckle. “A smooth talker, I see.”
“The original smooth talker,” he assured her. “Now, about that dance?”
Before she could protest, his hand ghosted up the length of her back, and he led her out onto the dance floor. Autumn’s breath caught as they moved, the rich scent of his cologne teasing her nose. She should have been afraid, especially after last night, but for some reason, she was more nervous than anything else. She was safe here with half the city’s police force on patrol. Not that she was looking at them. She could barely tear her eyes away from her dance partner.
“Shall we?” He turned toward her and offered his other hand, brow arched as though daring her to resist.
“On one condition.”
His other brow rose.
“Your name.”
A smooth chuckle rose to her ears. “Ah. Forgive me. Here I thought your police friend would have told you everything about me.”
She shook her head.
“Caleb Jensen,” he said after inclining his head in an old gesture she’d only seen in the movies. He stepped up flush against her and wound an arm around her waist. “And you, my dear, are Autumn Kane, necromancer extraordinaire.”
Her breath caught the moment his fingers grazed the small of her back, as though his touch awakened her entire body. She cast a demure smile, then slid her hand in his and gazed up at him from under her lashes. “Am I supposed to be impressed that you know about me?”
“Hardly.” On the next beat, they started to dance.
He moved with singular purpose, and their bodies harmonized as he led them around the room.
“How did you know I’d be here?”
He eased her out into a gentle spin before guiding her back into his chest. His head bent low, his breath brushing against the shell of her ear. “Amazing the things one can learn from the Internet.”
Autumn’s eyes fluttered shut, her heart hammering in her chest as she inhaled his scent. “You realize you’re stalking me, right?”
“I like to think of it more as studying an investment.” He leaned back and draped her body against his side, bracing her weight without breaking stride. “As I tried to tell you last night, I require your help.”
“With what?”
He tsked her, then spun her once more before leading her through the room. “Can’t we finish our dance before discussing business?”
Yes, please. The man certainly knew his way around the dance floor, and though surprising, she was enjoying herself. The feel of his body shifting against her, of his hand warm against her skin as he led her in circles. The logical part of her brain scolded her, told her she shouldn’t be enjoying this. The man had practically abducted her the night before. But the darker half of her soul yearned for this, to come alive beneath someone’s touch again.
A frightening notion that almost had her running home.
This was not the one to come alive for. He’d snatched her off the streets and dragged her into an empty house. He’d devoured Sadie’s soul. He’s the villain, her head screamed at her.
He brushed a hand through her hair and down her jaw. “Keep dancing with me, Autumn.”
Holding his gaze, she nodded.
She’d done the whole white knight in shining armor thing. Hell, once upon a time, she’d married a police officer, and it had been disastrous. Maybe it was time for a little evil in her life.

“I-I thought. We were.” None of her thoughts were complete. “Why didn’t she tell me, kaasan?”
“Shh, Yu-chan. Cry it out. Then we’ll have some tea and puzzle out what we need to do.”
When Yuki finally took off her jacket and shoes, she felt wrung out, just like an old stinky dishrag, spent. She slumped at the table where her mother set out tea.
“She?” kaasan asked.
Yuki avoided her mother’s gaze. “You knew I wasn’t interested in boys,” she tried to explain.
“Ah. Yes. So she betrayed you?”
Yuki chanced to look up and her mother watched her closely. “Yes. Well, no. She lied to me, kaasan. She asked me to live with her in her house, but that wasn’t what she did.”
Brow furrowed, Yuki’s mother asked. “She took you somewhere else?”
Yuki sipped her tea to avoid answering and think about what she should and could tell her mother. Any mention of kitsune would sound like a wild story to avoid the truth. She had to make it sound normal. “Yes, it was much too small for both of us.”
Chuckling, Yuki’s mother raised her cup. “You can fit in very small places to be with someone you love."

Note: Okaa-san is Japanese for mother. Some shorten it to 'kaasan.

Hello! Thank you for this opportunity to talk about my new release Sexual Healing and help my readers get to know me better.)

Tell us about your title featured in this set:
The title is Sexual Healing and it is about 22 pages long (give or take) and I wrote it in ten days. (true story)
My computer hard drive crashed 12 days before my book for the boxed set was due to be submitted. Everything that I had written and edited up to that point was lost. I thought I had it saved in one other place but it wasn’t there.
The honest truth was that even though I liked what I had written something didn’t seem right. I couldn’t place my finger on it until I started getting the urge to write another paranormal at the same time. So I decided to go with my gut and turned Sexual Healing from a contemporary setting to a paranormal one.
When I was approached for the boxed set, the first thing that came to my head was Marvin Gaye’s Sexual Healing, so I went with it.

Tell us something about yourself:
I work full-time in a call center, and write in between phone calls. I hope one day to be able to stay home and write full-time.
I’m happily single, have a dog named Misty who is a spoiled brat, but loves everyone. I was born and raised in Detroit, but now live in Oklahoma city.

Tell us about your writing process:
I write what the characters tell me to write I’m a complete pantser as far as writing. Outlines make me sweat.

What is your favourite genre to read?
I will read pretty much everything, but my fav is erotic.

What would you say is the one thing are you most passionate about?
In professional life I’d have to say get better with each story.

When you are not writing, what do you like to do?
Watch movies, play Kitchen Scramble on fb

If someone who hasn’t read any your books asked you to describe your story in this set (the elevator pitch!) what would you say?
Hmmm, A friends into lovers story with a paranormal twist. Zoe was friends with Liam Barnes and Brent Taylor in high school, but they left when Liam’s parents found them in bed together the night of their graduation party.
They return ten years later and things have changed. Zoe is about to become engaged to Liam’s twin brother Derek and Liam and Brent have changed in more ways than one. They are what i like to call werepires, a combination vampire and shifter and they came back to town to claim their mate. Zoe.

Where can readers connect with you?
I live on facebook or it seems like I do. You can find me on Fb, twitter you can email me. I’m on Instagram too but still forget to go there sometimes.
“Hi,” she said to them coming up. “Liam? I didn’t know you’d be here too.”

“When Brent told me that he saw you at the hospital, I couldn’t stay away,” Liam stood up and hugged her. Damn he smelled good. A smoky, woodsy scent that came from him and not some cologne that could be bought. “I’ve missed you.”

“If you’d really missed me then you would’ve contacted me,” Zoe refused to admit that her heart flipped. “When did you get back to town?”

“A few days ago,” Brent replied. “I’m here for a few days as a consultant for a case. But that’s not the only reason why we’re here.”

“Oh,” Zoe’s heart sank. “What’s the other reason?”

“We came for you,” Liam told her.

My Sexy Beast ~ Not Your Bitch @MySexySaturday #MySexySaturday #MySexyAuthors #Saturday7 #MSS156

Today I'm sharing seven paragraphs from Not Your Bitch. Zoe feels like she's going to be eaten alive, but what she doesn't know is that a wolf lurks inside the man.

“I didn't want to interrupt,” Linc said with a smile. “You looked so happy.” He crossed the intervening space in two strides, his hand cupping her cheek and head. Zoe was sure he was going to kiss her again.
He didn't. His eyes scoured her face and held her gaze when he finished. “I wish I could feel that serene. You looked...” He searched for the word. “Complete.”
She smiled and lowered her eyes. If he stared any more closely, he’d know exactly what she was thinking, what she’d been imagining a moment ago. He tipped her chin back up with his free hand.
“Please, don't be afraid to look at me.”
Her heart pounded in her chest and her stomach threatened to fly away with the birds and butterflies racing in it. “I-I'm not afraid.”
He narrowed his eyes. “I think you're lying.”
“No, I'm just not ready. Your eyes…” she trailed off and was compelled to touch him. Her hand rested on his face, his angular cheekbone, the stubble on his jaw. “It feels like you're going to eat me alive.”

Unexpected Destiny ~ Assassins and Sweethearts @SJMaylee #romance #new #release

Join me in welcoming S.J. Maylee! She has a new release to share with all of you. You won't want to miss this one!

Thank you for having me today. I'm thrilled that Unexpected Destiny has released!

These assassins have really gotten a hold on me. I can’t wait till they all have their happily ever after. How did I get here, giving happy endings to assassins?

Initially I was looking to find love for a bad boy. Assassins aren’t usually the hero. They’re the villain. But I wanted to change all that. These four men came to me almost instantly. In no time, I had bits of each of their stories. I knew I had to write it all, the good, the bad, and the ugly on these men who want to save the lives of those who can’t get the help they so desperately need, whose lives are in immediate danger.

Now that I’ve pulled that string, I see a whole mess of stories. Once I tell the stories of these four men, more will come. Great things are in store. I can’t wait to experience it all. <3

Excerpt:
Aidan turned off the faucet and caught the reflection of those gorgeous brown eyes in the mirror.
“Oops. Wrong door,” said his girl as she turned around.
“I can share.” He could handle the surveillance later. This woman deserved his attention.
She stopped and turned around. “Okay then.” She took a step toward him. “You know what? I should have asked for confirmation earlier.” Her gaze was full of mischief.
“You’re right. You should have asked.” He took a hold of her hand and pulled her close. “I sure would like to see that tiny scrap of lace.” And just like that his night got infinitely better.
She stopped her forward movement when their chests were a mere inch apart. A nice rosy blush heated her cheeks. He kept hold of her hand while her other played with the lapel of his dark leather jacket. “I can’t believe I’m doing this.”
“You need to get back to your friends?”
“Yes, but…” She licked her bottom lip. “Maybe I could stay here for a few minutes.”
“At least a few.” He tapped the bottom of her chin. “How about you start by telling me your name?”
“Liz.” Her gaze met his and he wanted time to stop. Something about the lonely look in her eyes called to him to not let her get away. She shifted closer. “Who are you?”
He pushed his finger over her waistband, rubbing her hipbone. “I’m Aidan.” He squeezed the hand he still held. Her soft body relaxed against his.
“I should probably go. I need to get my friends home.”
“I don’t think you should go anywhere.” He brushed his nose against hers.
A delicious moan slipped from her lips. “I don’t want to leave but I need to make sure they get home safely.”
“It’s nice of you to look out for them.” Damn, she smelled good. It was lilacs or roses or something.
“I’d rather stay here with you.” She leaned in and their lips almost met. “My friends are always right. I should have gone out with them months ago.”
“Stay a few more minutes.” He caressed over her hips to her round ass. Hot tension filled his thoughts. Forget a few more minutes, he’d take all night and then some to explore this beautiful woman.
“More.” She scraped her teeth over her bottom lip.
A second later, the door opened. “Lizzy, we got to go. Emily isn’t feeling well.”
She dropped her head to his shoulder and he wrapped his arms around her.
“Oh, I’m so sorry, Lizzy.” The woman held the door open. “You’re right. He is cute. Bring him with you. Emily won’t mind.”
“She’ll be right out,” he said. Once the friend left the bathroom, he brushed her hair behind her shoulders and stroked her back.
“I feel like I’m cursed.”
“You and me both, sweetheart.” He didn’t let her go.
“Well.” She looked up at him from under her long, dark lashes. “It’s not what I had in mind but would you help me with my friends?” The soft tone of her voice had him imagining how she’d purr if he made her come. “I think I might be the only one sober and they can be a bit much to wrangle into a cab. They live north in Edgewater and then we could do something, maybe go back to my place.” She worried her poor bottom lip once more.
“I’d like that.” He squeezed her ass. “Sure. I’ll help, Lizzy.” He tugged on her hair. Then he’d help himself to more of her.

Praise for the first book in the Assassins and Sweethearts Series

Desire Unexpected

5 stars from Cocktails and Books: “Their love for each other was very fierce, and when they began to have sex, it goes completely off the charts. Their love scenes were intense and oh, so hot!  They had feeling of a kind of desperation to them. They’ve found what they were looking for in each other, and they’re clinging to it with everything they had.”

4 Hearts from Sizzling Hot Reads: “It had the hot steamy sex scenes but also the mystery behind the group Ethan belonged too. I look forward to more from the Assassins and Sweethearts series.”

4 stars from Redz World Reviews: “over all this is a great start to what promises to be a good series”
