#bloghop #giveaway - Wicked After Dark!

Wicked After Dark... are vampires more wicked after dark or during the day when they are trapped inside? I suppose it depends on whether or not their prey come to them willingly. If you have a tasty human in your home, why wouldn't you enjoy them through the daylight hours? In Blue Moon House, most of the wickedness comes after dark because that's when the humans are available to come, to spend hours in the arms of their vampire master.

To tempt you, draw you in, keep you with me until the sun rises, I'm offering a tidbit from Jocelyn's prequel to Blue Moon House. Then, when you've caught your breath, you can enter for a copy of Blue Moon House or Campus Sexpoits 3 (winner's choice).

“Actually, you will clean that up,” she said with a confident smile.

Jocelyn's annoyance must have been clear on her face, but Sophia's expression didn't change. She stood watching, waiting. Gritting her teeth, Jocelyn wondered if they didn't have staff for this sort of thing. It was a fine house, the must have money. But no, they can get their lovers to cook and clean. Why should they hire anyone? She didn't say anything, but Sophia slapped her bottom while Jocelyn was bent over. Her hand landed squarely between Jocelyn's legs and made her jump. That was the oddest sensation. It hurt, but she was aroused. She put a little more effort into moving the damp towel over the floor. She swapped at one point, to get a dry one. Sophia took the moment to land another smack. Jocelyn shuddered, tingling along the hand print.

“More?” Sophia asked, her hand cupping Jocelyn, rubbing her. “Maybe some of what Lucy got?” Her fingers slid into Jocelyn, twisting to turn her palm down. Jocelyn shifted on her hands and knees, not entirely sure what to expect.

Sophia curled her fingers inside and used her other hand to rub Jocelyn's clit. It all built so quickly, Jocelyn couldn't quite believe it. Usually it took a little bit of foreplay for her to change gears, but Sophia had her ready to orgasm in seconds. Her belly felt hard, full, and when Sophia used the hand not stroking to press down on Jocelyn's pubic bone, the girl's eyes bugged out. There was a splashing sound as heat spread from Jocelyn's sex to her head and toes in one combustive burst.

She screamed with it and then pulled her knees up to her chest, curling into a ball. Her entire body felt like it was on edge. It reminded her of the last fever she had, every breath of wind, every hair, was heightened by her sensitivity. She shook and shivered, waiting for the sensation to pass.

It did in a few moments. When she had a hold of herself again, she saw Sophia using a towel to wipe the stream on the floor.

Jocelyn seized the towel, needing to know what was in that ejaculate. Where did it come from? What purpose did it have?

Sophia seized Jocelyn's hair and her neck was bent back. “That was impolite, love.”

“A-apologies, Mistress,” Jocelyn squeaked.

Tantalyzing Tuesday - Kimono

For all the other Tantalizing Tuesday Teasers, go here. And now, my pic:

Nabiki followed her sisters. Her kimono was plainer than theirs, her first real one. It had belonged to Yukiko and Sakura before her. They had each worn it proudly, as she did now.

“Here, Nabiki,” Yukiko said to her. “Enter this booth.” Sakura began giggling as soon as she and Yukiko had stopped.

“Why?” she asked, curious at their response.

“Because you’re a woman now.”

Trusting her sisters, Nabiki entered the booth, silk curtain falling behind her.

“Another of Genma’s daughters,” the man in the booth said. “Lovely as her sisters. Come here, child.”

He began easing her kimono open. At first Nabiki struggled, but the man put his mouth to her neck. Then she could smell his musk. Clouding her mind, he became more handsome, more alluring. She had only just begun enjoying touching herself, but after inhaling his scent, it seemed all her skin prickled and tingled. Every brush of his fingers sent her awareness further from the festival to focus on his mouth, his fingers, the rod prodding her thigh. She was naive to that, but in that moment, knew what she wanted to do with it, knew instinctively where it should go.

“Yes, child. That’s it.”

Release Eve - the day before awesome

Today I have wonderful news to share! Tomorrow Blue Moon House will be available on Amazon, Smashwords and at the NaughtyNightsPress Estore. By Monday or Tuesday it should be on Barnes and Noble as well (takes a little longer to get through their system). So if you've enjoyed great excerpts like this, or this, or this, then you really need to get the whole thing. If you haven't read any of the excerpts (well, click the links!) then here is a blurb to whet your appetite:

Julia has the chance to become one of the vampires of the Blue Moon House. Before being accepted, however, she must prove herself to each of the vampires, and each has their own exacting cost. Ranging from lesbian, to being forced, to physical torture, she is pushed to her breaking point time and again. Eventually her perseverance pays off and she crosses from submissive to dominant and vampire.

If you prefer the short stuff, I have a second release tomorrow (I know, crazy). NaughtyNightsPress is releasing their third installment of Campus Sexploits and this one includes a story by me! Here is the blurb for the anthology followed by Synopses from each of the authors.

Day 30 #blogflash2012 - Winning (Giveaway!)

What better way to celebrate winning than with a giveaway! :) My first novella, Blue Moon House is releasing in just TWO days! On that same day my publisher is releasing the third installment of the Campus Sexploits anthologies, including a short story by yours truly. How about that?! Would you like to win one? Would you like to win both?! Sorry, you can't win both, but you can win a copy of Blue Moon House AND get a coupon for Campus Sexploits 3. In fact, everyone can have one of those! All you have to do is leave a comment with your email address. I'll pass that on. And two lucky comments will get a free copy, one of Blue Moon House and one of CS3. Sound like a good idea? I think so. And just to whet your appetite, here a couple links to excerpts from BMH and a teaser from The Highest Bidder, included in Campus Sexploits 3.

Please, leave me some love.

Update: Due to the slow responses, I'll keep this contest open until the end of Sept. 1, my release day.

Day 28 #blogflash2012 - Frog

With great trepidation, she picked up the green animal. He had shiny skin, but wasn't slimy as she had expected. Rather he had cool skin, smooth. She ran her thumb between his eyes and down his back, expecting him to jump away as other frogs did.

He closed his eyes and gave a long, slow croak from deep in his throat.

Take me with you, his eyes said. It was also what the old witch had told her.

"When you go home, on the path, you will find a frog. If you would cure your infertility, take him with you, put him in your bed while your husband is still away. When he returns, you will find you are able to conceive."

Day 27 #blogflash2012 - History

These are a pair of excerpts from Blue Moon House and one of its prequels. The prequel is set in the 1900s and each subsequent prequel will be a little earlier. Enjoy!

Day 19 #blogflash2012 - Fireworks

Hmm, think perhaps my mind is going to go somewhere dirty? Well, you're right! Fireworks are what I see behind my eyes when my husband really hits the mark. Fireworks are what fill my mind when I read just the right sex scene at just the right time. Fireworks make me lick my lips and beg for more.

Have I ever written fireworks? For myself, yes, but if you read the same piece, will it resonate for you? It's so hard to tell. It's one of the reasons I was somewhat tentative in this genre. I'd written fanfiction erotica, but as will all fanfiction, that was primarily for me (and it worked!). To publish a piece, I'm relying on it hitting the same mark with at least a portion of readers.

I'm not sure Blue Moon House will do that. Some of the sex is over the top. Some of it just isn't appealing to average people. However, I hope the story behind the sex will help a reader through the hurdles and onto the scenes that are more likely to appeal. I hope some of the sex will get readers going. I hope the emotions and motivation will make the scene have more impact. I hope following Julia will have you peaking when she does and collapsing at the end.

And if it doesn't, well, I'm sure I have another box of fireworks around here somewhere that will suit.

Day 18 #blogflash 2012 - Wild At Heart

No wonder really, I see wild at heart and think sex and romance!

The way I see it, there are two types of erotic fiction: stories about sex and stories that include sex. This post is not intended to be a condemnation in any way! Each has its pros and cons. Just like in real life, sometimes you want to make love and sometimes you just want to fuck. One isn't better than the other, they're just different and each has its place.

I think it's helpful for the reader to know when they crack the spine (or open the file) what they are getting. Blue Moon House is a story about sex. The plot is driven by sex. There is still a good story in there, but it can't be told without the sex.

I recently reviews the first book of the Resistance, The Arrangement, on Good Reads. That was a story with sex. Although sex did drive part of the plot, with a lot of work and the magic of 'fade to black' it could be told at a PG rating. I'm glad it's not! Like I said, not judging here. The sex was great, it enlightened us on the characters and their relationship, and well, it was just damn hot. The story would have been less without it, but it would still be complete.

In my opinion, there has been an increased focus on stories about sex thanks to the popularity of Fifty Shades of Grey. Remember, I also wrote a story about sex, so I am definitely riding this wave. Yet, I wanted to remind readers and writers alike that there is ample shelf space and interest in a good story that includes well written sex. If my next novel or novella isn't another Blue Moon story, it will be a story with sex rather than a story about sex. I, for one, need both to balance my diet. My wild side is definitely an omnivore!

Spankalicious

That's the subtitle of Erica Pike's blog. The subtitle! The actual title is Gay Romance. Caught your eye? Yeah, it caught mine too. So I'm sure it'll come as shock to learn that she reads and reviews Gay erotica. It doesn't?! Well, how about how she chooses what to read or review? Do you know that? That's what I thought. That's why I'M the interviewer here, bub.

I go by cover, blurb and title (in that order). A cover will catch my eye first, I’ll buy the book if the blurb sounds interesting, and I choose which story to read on my Kindle by which title interests me (because, let‘s face it, with all the books I have on my Kindle I‘m not going to remember the blurb to all of them). The titles may not have been paramount in the past, but with e-readers, they are very important.

Do you plan your posts in advance? Are you ever at a loss for a new post/idea?

Oh God, yes, I’m at a loss for new posts and ideas a lot! It’s getting better though. I always got this huge writer’s block whenever I sat down to blog. I don’t usually plan my posts in advance. I do it sometimes, when I think up new topics but have already posted that day, or if the topic really stretches on and I split it into two or three parts. A week and a half from now I’m doing a “Twink Week” in honor of my upcoming release, Absolutely Eric, (that features a very proud twink), so I’m having a bunch of guest bloggers from the m/m genre. But generally, I just blog when I feel like it. It’s not the best strategy, but it’s the only way I can stay active on my blog without clogging up with writer’s block.

I know writer's block. It seems sometimes you turn to activism. Do you find you're preaching to the choir about gay rights or falling on deaf ears? Do you see a lot of prejudice and discrimination in your daily life?

Carla Croft: What turns you on?

Carla Croft is the author of Letters Around Midnight (available on Amazon). Are the Letters Around Midnight anthologies of short stories or a series of novels? What else would you like us to know about them.

The Letters Around Midnight books are anthologies of stories as related to me, the main character. There is a brief introduction of the person making the confession, or the situation, and then I change the point of view to be about the confessionee telling their story. The tale then wraps with a short dialogue between the characters. I do try to develop the character of the confessionee in some way. I don't always manage it. But, I do feel that it is important that the story is not just about peg A in hole B. People have said very nice things about the way the stories work, which makes me happy.
At the end of my books, I always put in a short note to the reader. I ask them to contact me to let me know if they enjoyed the book, what they liked, what they didn't like. It's important to me. I want to write better and the people to tell me are the people that read my stories. I am working on some new projects at the moment which change the direction of my writing slightly. It will involve me much more as a character in the book. It's something I've avoided so far but I am so excited about the way they are shaping up.

Your blog obviously comes with an adult warning. What drew you to erotica?

I've always been a sexual person, so I suppose erotica came naturally into my life. I can find anything around me to be erotic. First of all, I find myself moved by any number of things, not necessarily erotic; but then once I find my emotions have been stirred, I get moved emotionally and then erotically.

You refer to everything from Lesbian BDSM to Threesomes and sexual health. Are any topics taboo? Do you have a favourite?

I haven't really thought about taboo subjects. It's probably that I think about what to write, rather than what not to write. If I had to have a taboo it would be non-consensual sex. I love bdsm, but even that comes with a consent at it's heart. Rough sex is okay too, but every partner has the right to say no at any time for any reason, it doesn't have to be definable or even consistent. In my mind no is no, period.
Do I have a favourite? I get really turned on by what I am writing, otherwise there is no point. If I am not moved then reader will not pick up on what I am trying to relate. So, it's a bit of a cliche, but my favourite topic has to be what I am writing right then and there.

D.F. Krieger - Interview with Author, Editor and Blogger

Welcome Deadra! Thank you so much for answering my questions on Blogs and Blogging. I'm sure your answers with benefit other bloggers just starting out. To begin, your blog has two weekly features: Must Read Monday and Writer Wednesday.

How do you choose your books for Must Read Monday? Do you have a list of books you've already read that you choose from? Do you prepare your post in advance?

I often use books I've edited, though occasionally I will post some I've purchased and read for pleasure. My Must Read Monday is actually booked full up to a month in advance. I usually write the blog the day of, or night before. I'm terrible with not pre-writing blogs, but half the reason is because when I write them, that is when I also post them in author/writing/reading groups.
