Vampire Friday - Nicholas 4

Let's see how Nicholas adjusts to his new environs. More Vampires on these great blogs: Linda Hamonou.

“Yes. I fear three of us might be more noticeable. However, if you go around town feeding, that would be even worse.”
“You and one other?” His brain was turning over the possibility of hiding safely, of never giving in to the demon again, but he was able to keep track of her words.
Sophia smiled. “Lynn joined me before we took over the house. Before I met her, I was like you, moving from town to town, trying to escape the attention that had brought fire on the others.”
Nicholas remembered fire. He remembered his kind locked in a stone building and the thatch lit. If he hadn't gone to meet a farm girl that night, he would be lost like the others. Instead, he was alone. Rather than find more of his kind, he'd found horrible tales of their destruction: stakes thrust through their chests to prevent their escape until the sun burned them to death. Others were burned at stakes.
Sophia touched his face again, bringing him out of his nightmares. “I've seen some, heard of others. Our only hope is to hide.” She paced, watching him. “Please, don't uncover us.”
He blinked. “Why would I do that? I'd burn with you. How do you do it?” he asked again, still trying to fathom how he might defeat the demon.
She smiled again, stopping her pacing. “Once you're sated, it is easy to sip, to sample. You said it has been a week?”
“A little less, five days.”
Sophia nodded. “In the morning, I will send one of the girls to you. You can drink without fear and learn to stop. It isn't easy. Your instinct will be to drink heavily, but you can learn.”
“And the other?” he asked again. Who was the other vampire in this house?
Sophia wrung her hands before her, drawing his attention to the filmy shift she wore, a garment to be discarded. “I was very lonely, one among many whores. I was managing to only feed a little on each customer, but it was difficult. I needed more. Lynn was my friend, my partner. She helped me further sate my hunger and drink deeply. It was easier to only sip from johns. I wanted to keep her, despite the risks necessary to do so. I explained to her what she had to do.”
Nicholas sucked breath through is teeth. He dimly remembered his own transformation, fighting with a strange woman before tearing her throat out with his teeth. If he hadn't drank enough, he would have died. The vampire, as he later discovered she was, did die. Yet Sophia had survived. Very dangerous.
“I need to go,” Sophia said, moving to the door. “You can go or stay here. I'll make sure the girls know about you.”
“Thank you.” He had a lot to think about and appreciated the hiding place. He was still sitting there when a woman with long dark brown hair came in.
“Sophia sent me.” She came near and tipped her head to the side, exposing her neck.
Nicholas shunned the offering, drawing her into his lap instead. “And you are?” he asked, nuzzling her ear and stroking her hip. She smelled of men and woman. He could smell sex on her and wanted more for himself.
Her voice became raspy. “Cordelia. Please, sir.”
She said nothing more, so he asked, “Please, what?” His hands continued to explore. He'd foolishly thought four nights of encounters would dull the urge.
Sophia's words came back to him, telling him what he should do, how he could keep the demon from rising as his hunger did. He nibbled the whore's ear, making her jump.
Her blood was rich and thick. Only a few drops coated his tongue, but it was enough to awake his thirst.
“Please, keep touching me,” Cordelia begged, her fingers opening his shirt. He continued to suck her lobe, the wound closed now. He tried to focus on not opening another, not biting into her neck.
She twisted, sliding her legs around his hips and rubbing herself on him. He opened his pants and lifted her skirt, needing the same contact she sought. Once they had it, she pulled his head to her breast.
“Drink, sir. Make me burn for you.”
Hunger and thirst grew together. He sucked at a new bite over her breast, swallowing while his hips thrust.
“Yes, yes!” Her toes curled, gripping his back as she squeezed around him. He kept thrusting, kept drinking, until she shouted at him, “Stop! Enough!” The second word was quieter and she went limp in his arms.

Flasher Fiction Friday - Vance #flashfiction

Dot fell asleep spooned up with Vance. She had never felt so safe, so warm. It was one of the best nights of her life. Not sexually, nothing had really happened there, but she had slept soundly and deeply feeling like a new person upon waking. She could still feel Vance’s warmth around her and sighed, dozing off again.
Her hand moved to stroke the man who protected her when no one else had. She didn’t find skin but hair, fur. Had he wrapped her in a blanket? She opened her eyes to see the creature draped over her.
“Vance.”

“You aren't even going to take that off?” she asked, batting her eyes and running her hand over the links on his chest.
“Oh, uh, yes. Of course I am.”
She almost laughed. Was he as new to sex as she was? When he shed metal and then cloth in swift efficiency, her amusement fled. He was practised and he wasn't going to let her escape.
When he stood naked, she felt true fear. He must have seen it in her eyes as she looked him over. He looked down and winced.
“Those beasts really gave me a licking. At least they're red now. I'll look worse in the morning.” He climbed back on the bed, pressing her into the headboard. “This doesn't have to hurt, but I am going to have you, princess. One way or the other.”
She bit her lip and thought back over her lessons. She should be able to take the power from their act and use it to subdue him. If he raped her, however, she would gain nothing. She attempted to put on a naive facade that was more real than she realized. Her lip trembled.
“Please, be gentle. It is my first time.”
His grin was predatory and she longed to wipe it off. She had some magic, even now, but it wasn't enough to more than knock him from the bed. He'd be back on her in a heartbeat and her magic would be used. No, she had to bide her time.
“Of course, princess. I'm not an unfeeling monster.” He ran a hand gently up her thigh, pushing her skirts with it.
He was, of course. He had slain Magnificent and who knew how many other familiars and friends to get her.
She lost her focus for a moment in the warmth following his touch. What was he doing? It didn't feel like that when she'd touched herself. His lips found hers and she clamped her teeth shut, preventing him from entering her mouth.
Breaking the kiss, he looked angry and pushed her legs open.

Tantalizing Tuesday - Too Good To Eat #flashfiction

I have a super-kawaii (cute) teaser today! Check out all the other 200 word pieces on the blog.

“Okay, Amy, we get it. Your new boyfriend is awesome.”
Amy knew Donna was jealous, but she hadn’t expected the vitriolic tone. “Well, he is. I mean, he’s not perfect. He’s hard to understand sometimes and behaves in odd ways that I don’t understand. There are a lot of times he won’t even look me in the eye. It’s weird.”
The friends took a seat in the lunchroom and Amy watched them all open their bags. Nearly everyone had leftovers. Donna had a salad and Trina, a sandwich. Licking her lips nervously, Amy peeked into her bag.
Takumi had made her a lunch. He considered it repayment for the opportunity to spend the night at her place. He’d made dinner the night before as well, and she’d expected leftovers like everyone else. Of course, her would look like it had come from a Japanese restaurant.
She removed the kerchief carefully tying the bamboo container together. The top came off and she blinked in complete surprise.
Donna leaned across the table. “Okay, nevermind, he is awesome.”
“How am I supposed to eat this?” she asked her friends.
“That’s your problem,” Donna teased, taking a panda and walking him over the table.

Thursday Taster: Pandora 13

Check out all the great tasters on the blog. If you want whole story, what I have is available on WattPad.

“Time to be done,” he said, wheezing through bruised ribs. He was sure his entire body must be purple and black. Searching, he finally found the princess on a bed, asleep as her father had supposed. She was beautiful, more lovely than any girl he'd had in his bed. And she had the spark of magic. Priceless. Fishing the bean from his pocket he climbed up beside her.
He didn't hesitate, not for a second. This woman would be his. He had walked through hell for her. His lips were forceful on hers, prying them open. When she inhaled, his breath filled her lungs. That was what was needed. The spell wasn't broken with the kiss, but with the vapor that filled his mouth as he bit the bean held between his teeth.
"Ah!" she shouted, scurrying back toward the headboard. “Where's Tabitha?”
"No," he told her, gripping her shoulders to prevent her escape. "I moved heaven and earth for you. You are giving me what I need. Now, would you like to do this here, in relative privacy? Or we can take you home where my father and yours will want to be sure we do this correctly.”
“Why did you free me just to lock me up again?” she asked, voice hard.
“Because. I need a kingdom. You’re going to give it to me. Now, princess, make a little room for your husband.”
Pandora stared in shock at the man pressing himself down on her. He was covered in blood. His hair was matted with it and a crusty mass made up the left side of his face. Could he have been less appealing?
Magnificent, she thought, her eyes watering. He'd killed him. There was no other way he could have gotten in. He was dead. The beautiful dragon that had so fiercely wanted to protect her.
“Oh, don't cry. I won't make it painful.”
Her jaw tightened. Had he killed Tabitha, too? Had she and her mother finished? She still had no idea why Tabitha had gone, what her mother needed. She hoped it was worth it.
He roughly pulled up her skirt and she nearly kicked him. Would have if he weren't still covered in armour that would likely break her toes.
“You aren't even going to take that off?” she asked, batting her eyes and running her hand over the links on his chest.

“Oh, uh, yes. Of course I am.”

Tantalizing Tuesday - Damsel and Dusk #Flashfiction

A little fantasy for your Tuesday. Check out the other teasers on the blog.

Damsel and Dusk were the only two on the water as the sun slowly set on the horizon. The fairy eyed the insect warily. They were comparable in size, but he was much stronger physically. She had the advantage of magic. However, he posed no threat, pulling his legs against his body like a bow on strings. His friends would swarm soon, joining his music.
Damsel had admired the locust music in the past and tonight was no exception. Dusk played beautifully, hauntingly, but something was missing. There was a hollowness that Damsel couldn’t ignore. She put her hands to her mouth and sang out, blowing music from her into the air between herself and Dusk.
As soon as he did, more locusts landed on the lily pads around her and stopped blowing, afraid of their numbers. She was still alone next to the white lotus. The insects stopped playing as well, all of them watching her, intent.
Fire, Lightning and Dragon flitted down, landing next to Damsel and erecting a magic field around her. The insect chorus hadn’t moved, hadn’t attacked, waiting. She lifted her hands to her mouth again and blew. Fairy and insect joined her magical music.

Vampire Friday - Nicholas 2

Another Friday, another snip of the vampires of Blue Moon House. Nicholas is still finding a place for himself. More Vampires can be found on these blogs: Linda Hamonou and Siren X Star.

He had crossed much of the city, and the smell of fish was non-existent here. Instead there were sheep smells, lanolin, and music. The sound drew him in the same way his victim's voice had repelled. Without thinking, he walked into a house of God and listened to their choir through matins. There were no lay people in the church that he could see, and Nicholas hid away in the confessional. He was surprised to find a priest praying in the next cell. The father crossed himself and addressed Nicholas. “You have come before God, my child.”
“Forgive me, Father, for I have sinned. It has been sixteen days since my last confession.”
“It is early for confession, my son. You have a full day ahead?”
A day hiding in the rectory if he could manage it. “Yes, Father.”
“Go on, then.”
“I have killed a woman.”
That gave him a safe confessional to stay in for an hour. He spent another twenty minutes doing penance. He'd tried one of the Protestant churches once, but fled when he didn't find a confessional. Since then, he'd stuck to Catholics. They were also more likely to have alms that he could access. The fisherman's clothes were durable, but not well suited to a city. Before leaving the church, he replaced his clothes with some equally rough, but less salt-crusted.
How long since he'd been in a city? The smells were much worse, but it might be easier to find prey. He could stay, if he didn't mind giving into the demon. Of course, more people meant he was more likely to be caught and burned.
He circled around the city as the sun set, its dying rays burning him a little less. He followed a group of gentleman, dressed more finely than himself, but in similar style. Their stockings silk and coats embroidered, complicated lace at their collars. His collar was plain linen and his stockings woollen, but he wasn't turned away when he followed them into a large parlor. While he idled with the men, young ladies came and claimed them, leading them into the house. No one approached Nicholas at first.
All through the city, the smells had been overwhelming, and the same was true here, but the smell wasn't bad, it was intoxicating. This was a house for sex. He didn't stay, knowing he couldn't pay a whore. He was eager for company, though, the smell arousing his sexual hunger, which hadn't been sated at all by the prostitute the night before.
Another man exited and approached Nicholas. “Come,” he said, crooking a finger and walking past. “I don't want a woman tonight.” Nicholas grinned and followed. He had no preference between men and women, a lover was a lover. It was something he had in common with this man.
“I am Luke,” he said as he slowed, Nick falling in step beside him.
“Nicholas.”
“A pleasure, Please don't mind the wife. She should be in bed, but one never knows.” He held the door open and Nicholas slipped inside. Would he be able to stay the day tomorrow? He needed to find some way to care for himself.

FFF - Goodbye #flashfiction

Marion lay on her back in the bottom of the boat, its width giving her room to spread her arms to either side if she wished. She didn’t. She lay perfectly still, corpse still, as the slow current washed her past her home. The willows and cottonwoods were familiar friends, waving branches and leaves over her, waving goodbye.
She could hear birdsong as well, finches and wrens and robins each twittering away to one another in a musical language she sought to understand. She imagined them saying goodbye.
Her phone beeped, ruining the idyllic atmosphere. She knew what it said.

Thursday Taster: Pandora 12

Check out all the great tasters on the blog. If you want whole story, what I have is available on WattPad.

That was when he met the fox.
Evilly cunning creature, it set traps for Russel, bits of fur and fluff to make the prince think he knew where the animal was only to have it attack elsewhere. Blood ran down his face from bites and scratches. His boot was gone as were one of his toes. When he connected with the blindingly fast creature, it was killed easily. Russel's sword took the head off in one swing, but not before he'd been badly beaten himself.
Sitting, he downed liquor from his flask, letting it burn through him and give him false strength. He was at the door. Just a few more yards and the girl would be his. He tugged his boot back on, biting back a scream at the pain. Leaning on his sword he stumbled forward, ready for this to be over.
Magnificent spread his wings and beat them twice, nearly knocking the weakened prince over by air alone. He laughed great clouds of smoke that blinded Russel. The prince dropped down, breathing the fresher air below.
A dragon? He was going to fight a dragon? No woman was worth this. No kingdom. The witch take Victor, his wife and his daughter. Russel was finished with the lot. Crazy, every last one of them.
Scooping together his stamina and sword, he pushed himself up, lashing at the great red beast. Pale violet claws narrowly missed him, grating on armour already beaten by a bear. Unlike the bear, her claws tore through the metal, pulling him for a moment before falling backward.
Landing on his ass, he held the sword up as the dragon bent down to bite him.
With a roar, he sprang back, blood dripping from his mouth. He'd managed to hit him. He jumped up again as his tail swung at Russel's legs and stabbed the tip. He somehow slid between the scales, ripping it open. More blood sprayed as he lashed with it.
With more confidence, Russel began looking for other tender bits. One wing was sheared off, but he took a claw to the face, blood running into his eye. He found a weak point under his forelimb and made the dragon step back.
The beast's purple eyes seemed cloudy. Had he scored a lethal blow? He tried for the same spot on the other side and Magnificent, no longer resembling his name, fell with a thud. Russel ran his sword through one of his eyes to be sure the job was done. Then, cleaning the blade on the grass, he limped into the fortress.

Tantalizing Tuesday - Ice Heart #flashfiction

Jennifer looked over her shoulder as she stroked her legs in long strong arcs, flying over the surface of the ice as though it were air. Mary watch in wonder as entered a spin, using all the generate momentum to whirl her in a tight circle. Unable to stand on the sidelines any longer, she opened the penalty box and stepped out onto the ice.
Jennifer was still spinning when Mary reached her, putting her hands on her friend’s shoulders to stop her. Her cheeks were bright pink from the chilly air and she giggled her head still spinning. “I’m getting better at that,” she said.
“You are,” Mary agreed towering over her little friend. Mary played on the girls’ hockey team and was one of their stars. She was at home on the ice, just like Jennifer, but their skates contrasted.
“Think I’ll be ready for my performance next weekend?”
Mary ran a cotton gloved hand down Jennifer’s ponytail, pulling it over her shoulder to rest on the pink jacket Jennifer wore.
“I know you will,” Mary assured her, looking down into Jennifer’s bright eyes.
“Thanks!” She rose onto her toe-pick and laid a small quick kiss on Mary’s lips.

Vampire Friday - Nicholas 1

Another Friday, another taste from Blue Moon House. Today we have one of only two volumes that include a vampire from the beginning. Nicholas is having a very hard time, struggling with himself and his conscience. I'll probably post a few excerpts from this book, just to give you a better idea of his suffering and subsequent relief. More Vampires can be found on these blogs: Linda Hamonou, Siren X Star.

Stepping out into blessed darkness, Nicholas stumbled, nearly falling to the cobblestones. He blinked, but his eyes were working perfectly, his mind was clouded and confused. He swung his head from side to side, holding his breath against the overwhelming aroma of fish. Not looking back at the empty vessel he had stowed away on or the bodies littering the deck, he followed his nose to something at least slightly sweeter.
Without luck, he wandered up and down the streets, eventually coming to the realization that he wasn't in a simple port, but a thriving metropolis. London, if he remembered the direction the ship had taken, newly restored after the fire.
He paused to remember the fishing captain and his small crew. It had only been a short trip from the continent, not much more than a day. Tormented by his conscience, he had stayed hidden on that moored ship for ten days. Now his was thirsty again, so thirsty he couldn't think.
“Got any money, Cap'n?” a woman called from one of the many narrow alleys. Nicholas squinted at her, sizing her up. She would definitely purge the thirst. “I can give you a good night if you can pay.” Her accent turned the words into sharp scratching sounds that tore at his vampiric ears, sensitive enough to pick up distant whispers. Her blood sang to him though, and the more he regarded her, the more he realized that no one would miss her.
“What do you say, Capn?”
Why did she call him that? It took a full minute for him to remember that he had stolen clothes from the ship. Rather than answer, he seized the prostitute, crushing his mouth to hers.
She squirmed a little in his arms at first, but settled into the kiss quickly when she realized it wasn't an attack. She tasted of rancid oil and cheap wine, not appealing at all, but the longer he kissed her, the cooperative she would become. Nicholas' kiss was charged with magical factor in his saliva, one that could arouse even the least interested man or woman. This woman, prepared for sex, melted at it.
“Yes,” she breathed, gasping. “Can you pay now?” she asked.
Nicholas didn't ask, working the buttons on his pants free so he might take the willing woman. The rough wool fell and he spun to hold the prostitute against the wall of one of the buildings. She didn't ask for payment again, as he thrust into her, nipping her skin.
“Yes, fuck, take me.”
He did just that, but he needed more, he needed what pulsed inside her. Unable to stop himself, Nicholas bit into her shoulder and began sucking heavily at the wound swallowing mouthful after mouthful of her sweet blood, much sweeter than any other part of her.
Her cries never changed from pleasure to pain, rather, they softened and hushed until she made no noise at all. Nicholas continued thrusting a few more times, but it was clear the woman could give him nothing more. Stepping back, the body slumped to the ground. Looking into her lifeless eyes, Nicholas was haunted by her. How could he? It had only been a few days. It was getting worse. Soon he'd be killing indiscriminately and run out of town, or worse burned. Turning, he ran and didn't stop until first pink rays were touching the sky.

Flasher Fiction Friday - Not as Advertised #flashfiction

His eyes seem to follow me. I know it’s just a trick of the light, of the photography, but I can’t help staring back at him as I move around the room.
“If you’re nervous, we don’t have to do this now. I’ll refund you.”
I jump at the voice, forgetting for a moment that there are other people in the room. Only two others. The woman reads a magazine while he, Dusty, watches me.
“No, I’m definitely getting one. I’ll get what he had. What was it?” I point at the man on the bike.
Dusty grins. “A rose”

Russel shook the hare from his sword in disgust. Those should never attack. It was the oddest thing to have to fight something so small. He wrapped a cloth around his bitten hand. It had been fierce though, no less than the unicorn that had tried to skewer him. He could see the fortress in the distance. At least, he assumed it must be the one with two creatures fighting to prevent him entering.
There had been no sign of the ugly owner of the fortress or her beautiful companion. He fought on, eager to take the princess already. He paused when a bear stepped out and threatened him. That was a larger creature than he expected to face. Grating noise accompanied the beast's claws on his armour.
Russel fought out of the bear's grasp several times, and his horse took one attack, falling as his rider leapt free. Holding his still bloody sword ready, the prince tried to choose his point of attack. Rolling, he swept the side of the bear, an arm shearing off. That would make the bear less of a danger.
Even so, another scrape of his armour bore witness to a second near miss. Russel rolled away again, turning to meet the next swing. A second paw met the first and still the bear came on. Limping on forepaws, it kicked with hind, knocking Russel to the ground and his wind left him. He barely rolled out before the giant hairy body slammed into him.
Rising and turning, he skewered the bear before it could rise again, sword buried in its chest. It roared one last time before lying still in death.
Panting for breath, Russel pulled the sword free. He burned where the claws had caught skin and ached from bruises everywhere. Still, he was one familiar closer to the Fortress. There couldn't be many left, and the bear was likely the worst.
That was when he met the fox.

The Para-Portage of Emily by @SexyMuffyWilson

The Para-Portage of Emily
The Shadow Seduction Series
By
Muffy Wilson
@SexyMuffyWilson

Emily Macque, a young, beautiful junior partner in her father’s law firm, is but a heartbeat away from love or destiny. Duty brings Emily to a frozen Island estate two hundred and fifty miles north of Chicago. Devotion requires she delve into the property history to settle an estate probate. Death lures her into the arms of the shadows seduction created by the flickering light and dark shadows.

What flames the timeless passions spanning the decades? Love, desire or obsession?

Colin Jorgenson, once a Great Lakes mariner, is a strong man haunted by love and loss. How long will he return each night, gripped by desire, hoping to find the woman he has loved for a century?

Beneath the pristine Island beauty, passions hungered, lingered in the ardent darkness. His passions, fueled by decades of loneliness and longing, could no longer be denied. Will they face eternity together or love in secret as dark things are to be loved between the shadows and the soul?
I just finished The Para-Portage of Emily. Quite the page-turner!!
I was gifted a free copy by the author and found it to be a cleverly woven plot with descriptive characters you won’t soon forget. I’m not one to give out spoilers,
but if you like paranormal intrigue, hot romance, and mystery, you will love it. Looking forward to more works by Muffy Wilson as I’m sure they will be just as brilliant.

“Tell me what you know about Mariner’s Maiden please, Kirby.”
Kirby took a long draw on his beer before he began his narrative.
“It was years ago, around 1800 Miss Emily, when the original land owner arrived on the Island with settlers from Norway. He’d claimed five hundred acres on this southern point of the Island for himself. He became wealthy in cattle, wheat, timber and cheese. As his family grew and were educated on the Mainland, they moved, one by one, off Island. They were a wealthy, hard-working lot, but needed less and less of the acreage they owned. Much of the original plot was donated to the Town throughout the years. Some sections were sold.
“It got down to the last hundred acres when Colin Jorgenson bought the property, around 1890 or 1900. I am not exactly sure. The main house was much smaller and less grand than it is now, for sure.
“Now, Colin was a Maritime Captain and often he’d be gone for months at a time. He sailed the Great Lakes several times a year with supplies, spices, fancy goods and ‘fortunes of bounty’. That’s what they called it then. It was for sale to rich settlers throughout the Great Lakes. He’d earned all his wealth in trading by the turn of the century. He came and went for several years until, in his mid-thirties, he met and married a much younger woman, Amalya, and came back to the Island with her.”
Kirby sat back, drained his beer and continued. “The property was called Mariner’s Cove then. He spent two years with Island tradesmen rebuilding this house for his wife. To honor her, and before his return to the water, he commissioned a maritime woodcarver to create the figurehead of Amalya you saw yesterday on the tree marking the entrance.
He had the figure of Amalya mounted on the bow of his ship and apparently felt she was always with him in his travels. She died one summer, pregnant with their first child, shortly after his returning from his last trip of the season. He shut himself away in this house—a broken man, left forlorn and alone, to die years later of a broken heart as a recluse. It’s said he returns night after night trying to find his Amalya, his beloved.”
“But that’s just old folklore, Miss Emily, there’s nothing to it but made up stories from the past by gossips and romantics. This place has never been haunted—no one has ever said it was, anyway. Even though he was long dead, this property was held in Old Colin’s estate until your uncle bought it around 1955, I think. I suppose there is more you can find out at the Archives office in the Island library at the town offices, if you want. That’s about all I know and it ain’t much.”
Refusing a second beer, Kirby was off to finish his chores. “Thank you, Miss Emily,” Kirby said as he stood to leave.
Emily walked him to the door with Barkley in tow.
“Oh, there is one more thing” he added. “There is supposed to be a crypt on the property somewhere. I heard tell that Old Colin buried his Amalya in there and when he was dying, he crawled into it to die on her casket. Creepy, but no one’s ever found it to my knowledge—and between me and my dad, we’ve covered this property as caretakers for over fifty years.”
Emily extended her hand in gratitude for the information and company. “Thank you, Kirby. All of that is so very interesting. He must have been deeply in love with Amalya.”
Kirby, a middle-aged man, stood and shook Emily’s hand. He turned to leave, stopped and dropped his head as he hesitated at the bottom of the steps. A simple country man, this time was no different.
“Miss Emily…” He looked up at her rather sheepishly, and stuttered slightly, “Forgive me, Miss Emily, if I offend you. I have been a bachelor all my life and never had a way with women or much of a need for them. Oh, don’t get me wrong, I like ‘em well enough, but I never was able to pick the right words in their presence. If…if you don’t mind my saying…you look an awful lot like those paintings in the house of Miss Amalya.”
“Oh my word, Kirby, how you flatter me! It is purely a coincidence, I assure you.” Emily smiled, as she dismissed the compliment and waved good-bye at Kirby. As he left, she thought about the love shared between these two remarkable people, Colin and Amalya. Amalya and Colin.
She had forgotten to ask what became of the baby…

This is a story to savor. Ms. Wilson's descriptions are poetic and enthralling,
placing the reader in the midst of the story, and the relaxed pace of the story does not lessen the power of suspense. Shrouded in mystery, romance, and eroticism, "The Para-Portage of Emily" is a treat for the senses,
a haunting indulgence. Despite hints throughout, the ending still surprised me, and though satisfied,
I regretted the literary journey's end. Highly recommended. I look forward to more from this promising series. ~ By Jordan Stringfellow

Muffy, author of erotic, romantic stories about love, sex, hope and passion, was born in San Antonio, Texas, to traditional parents. With two older brothers, she was the youngest, the family "princess," indulged and pampered. She adored her older brothers, following them everywhere and was surrounded by love, stimulation, and pets. Her father was a career Colonel and pilot in the U.S. Air Force which required the family to travel extensively. The family lived in most points between Alaska and France. Muffy spent her formative years in Europe and came of age in France.

Returning from France with her family, Muffy finished high school in Northern California and attended the University of California, Davis, and majored in Business Management.

Muffy entered the work force, independent with a fierce work ethic, and retired at 39 from IBM as a Mid-West Regional Director in the Real Estate and Construction Division. I really enjoyed the Para-Portage of Emily... a skillfully and imaginatively told tale of love, lost and found. Mysterious twists kept me turning the pages until the end.
Love conquers all, AND it was hot!

Should John Grisham and EL James have a secret love child, she would no doubt pen legal thrillers with a luscious layer of the erotic. They would name their child Muffy Wilson and send her to Stephen King for some pointers in the paranormal.
Wilson, in the obliquely titled "The Para-Portage of Emily", interweaves these three diverse genres into a compelling, magic carpet of a novel that takes Emily Macque from Chicago to a bitter island estate two hundred miles north in the frozen sea. Emily is the striking junior partner in her father’s law firm, her mission, to settle the probate on an estate, her destiny to fall into the arms of Colin Jorgenson, a seaman haunted by a past love that torments his life.
Intelligent, well-written, with fully fleshed out characters and a story with more twists than a spiral staircase, "The Para-Portage of Emily" had me gripped until the very last page.

Tantalizing Tuesday - Fork in the Road #flashfiction

“Where are you going?” her mother screeched as Tanya slammed the door behind her. The bitch didn’t care, so why did she ask? She wanted Tanya gone.
They usually got along reasonably well, not in the standard mother-daughter way, but at least as negligent roommates. Tanya kept to herself and the bitch did the same. They each cooked their own meals, did their own cleaning and laundry, and only spent time together on the rare occasion that they both wanted to watch the same program on TV.
Tanya reminded her mother of Brad, Tanya’s father. Tanya had learned at a young age that it was easier to live with her mother if she stayed out of sight. Tonight had been too much.
Tanya walked from her house toward the highway. It wasn’t a long hike, and it was a beautiful night. She reached her destination in fifteen minutes and already felt better, letting her stress stay behind in that god-forsaken house.
On the tarmac, she looked left and right, seeing no one coming in either direction. Straddling the center line, she watched for a few minutes and still didn’t see a car.

Closing her eyes and letting go, she laid down.

Vampire Friday - Investor

Here's a snip from the upcoming Blue Moon House book all about Terrance. Investor is totally tentative and I expect it will be called something else when published. Check out these other authors for more Vampire love: Linda Hamonou, Siren X Star.

Terrance’s hand brushed through the blond hair in his lap. The whore was good. She used both hands as well as her mouth. He cast a glance at her and met her brown eyes briefly before focusing again on the pair atop the bed. The women fondled one another expertly. It seemed a race to see which could make the other scream first. The redhead was likely to lose. Both women were panting, but Eliza was nearly as red as her hair, a fantastic flush spreading down her chest. It was even odds that Lynn was cheating.
He’d been coming to the ladies of Blue Moon House long enough that the true proprietor of the House had identified herself. Sophia and Lynn shared more than ebony black hair, they were also much older than they appeared, eternal. Once sure of his discretion, they had asked for payment in a new fashion. All the whores knew Sophia, Lynn and Nicholas were vampires, but Terrance was one of the few clients to share the secret.
If Lynn had bitten Eliza, the girl was lucky to still be as focused as she was. Their bite was accompanied by a rush greater than any tobacco, any opiate. She would also be cheating. The object was to provide him a show, not feed. If she wanted that, she should have taken Amelia’s place.
“Mmm,” Amelia hummed in response to his increased arousal, the thought of Lynn biting him. He wanted to chide Lynn, but he didn’t want to interrupt.
Terrance pushed Amelia back and rose, approaching Lynn’s feet on the edge of the bed. He stroked his palms up the back of her legs while she used her mouth on Eliza. He couldn’t see her biting, only licking and sucking. The other girl swayed, her hands searching under Lynn, presumably for her small round breasts.
Terrance had always preferred the woman with glowing brown eyes, even before he knew what she was. His thumbs pulled open the lips between her thighs. The skin between was pink, but not red like Eliza’s. That was nearly as dark as Lynn’s tongue. Amelia’s hands slid over his hips, stroking him while she pressed against his back.
He’d intended to watch the women, but it wasn’t enough. Amelia was doing a wonderful job, but he didn’t want to sit by. He wanted to be surrounded by women, smothered under them.
His friend had claimed this was the height of passion. Of course, Glen was not one of the select who knew about the vampires. He also wasn’t one who enjoyed the taste of a woman. Perhaps his friend sought this as a way to pleasure more than one woman at once. Terrance hadn’t indulged before, but tonight was his birthday and in celebration, his father had offered to pay for as many women as he desired.
The old man was in another of these rooms, though Terrance tried not to think about that. He hated being reminded that it had been his father who had seen him spurned by most girls and introduced him to the whore houses. Oddly, immediately after his first night with Lynn, he had been approached by a woman at a party. The old man had said it was a change in his stance, his posture. He claimed a woman knew when a man could handle them properly. Terrance also knew how his father handled women. Mother had been rarely without a bruise somewhere on her body, when she was still alive.
He drove thoughts of his parents out of his head, instead focusing on Lynn who was spread lusciously before him. He would please more than one woman, and he would do it without bruising a single one of them. Twisting, he lay back on the bed, positioning himself under Lynn. He flicked his tongue up, catching her skin between his lips and rolling it. She gave a short cry, which encouraged him to continue. He stopped long enough to look at Amelia, still using her hands and mouth.
“Climb on if you like,” he offered, smiling.
Amelia needed no more encouragement. Terrance wondered if it was his arousal or that of her colleagues that had her so eager. It didn’t really matter, just as long as she wrapped her legs around his hips, covered him with her hot damp skin.
She did and he groaned into Lynn’s sex. The vampire did the same and pushed her hips down, crushing herself against his face.
His hands came up to cup her ass, holding her in place as she rocked on his outstretched tongue.
Eliza was the first to scream. “Yes, Lynn. Please don’t stop. Mmm. Yes.” Eliza’s words came faster and more shrilly until she screamed out. Immediately after, Lynn tilted her hips, twisting them. He pulled open her ass, too, sliding a finger in and feeling her squeeze it.
The sensation of her riding his finger made him throb, and the set off Amelia.
“Ah! Dieu! Sacre!” she swore in her native tongue. Terrance burned with the wetness she drenched him, he clenched his jaw, tipping his head back as he filled Amelia with his seed. Lynn didn’t stop grinding on his face, working herself on his chin.
Upon recovering from his climax, he brought his chin down and worked tongue and upper lip on the woman, longing to taste her as she peaked with her friends.
Lynn didn’t disappoint and moments later arched back, giving Terrance ample room to rub her pink skin. Her weight sunk into her hands and she rolled onto her side.
“Happy Birthday,” she told him, tugging on his arm to bring him fully onto the bed.

Flasher Fiction Friday - Maduplan #flashfiction

Flasher fiction Friday and we have several takes on the same photograph. Go to the blog to catch them all. I'm tying in some characters from other flash fiction I've done. Maduplan's sisters, Madumont and Madulac appeared there. Looking at this picture, I imagined the Lady of the Mountain and Lady of the Lake, might have a sister, the Lady of the Plain.

Inside her castle, Maduplan had her gardens, fountains, and tapestries. She hadn’t set foot on the plain and meadow surrounding her abode. From the tower, she could look out on sheep and shepherds, see that there was nothing to draw her away.
When she lifted the portcullis following a commontion, she was prepared to give the young upstart hell. She didn’t know it had come with him.
“Please, Aunt Maduplan, we need your help. Your sisters are fighting, protecting me. They need you.”
Feeling the truth of his words, Maduplan shifted into a swift deer and followed her sisters’ call.
