On the platform, phone in hand, she checked her messages.
There was a reply to her request for a room. This offer was in the perfect place, just one stop away. She could save a lot in train fare. She should call and set a meeting but couldn’t resist the temptation to stop in.
It was as easy to find and she knocked with no expectation that anyone would answer. Contrary to her prediction, the door swung open to reveal the same sunburnt giant that had distracted her all day. Now she could see his bright green eyes and how his hair, tousled and free of his hat, curled up in two places like horns.
Her legs wobbled slightly as he scrutinized her as keenly as she examined him. He’d taken off his jacket, revealing the same color across his well-defined chest and abs, the latter of which sported curly dark hair that trailed down and behind his printed leather pants. For the second time that day, she gazed at his pants wondering what sort of delight was hidden in them.
