Vampire Friday - Gentleman

Be sure to visit the other Vampire Friday participants: Linda Hamonou.
Harrold had a very different response when he discovered the true nature of the denizens of Blue Moon House. Ready to join him?
“Mostly, I want to shed her fear of her body. She was mistreated, as I expect you've guessed.”
“By her 'boss man.'”
“Another negro, if you can imagine, told her her body was the fruit of hell and he would fuck the devil out of her.” Lynn squeezed an apple in her hand until the skin split and juice ran down her fingers. “If I ever lay hands on him.”
Harrold touched her elbow, taking the piece of fruit. It wasn't old or withered, rather one of the new crop. How strong was she?
She looked at the mangled apple, then at him, and changed the subject. “You did well in there. You enjoyed it?”
He stuttered. “Yes, uh, yes.” He felt his face flush in embarrassment though he wasn't sure what embarrassed him? Dallying with a black girl? Certainly not being with two women at once.
“Good, because if you continue to come when you aren't scheduled, you will meet more of my clients.”
That word again, clients. “Do you expect payment?” He patted pockets, searching for his bill fold.
She waved him off. “No. We are sufficient for now. I might accept your offer later.”
“But...This is a whorehouse. How do you pay for things?”
“We are much more than we appear,” she said, maintaining an air of mystery.
Harrold's fingers played with the mangled apple. “I have no doubt about that.”
“There is something I would try. You must let me know when to stop. And you must trust me, with your life.”
He regarded her, still wearing only a dressing robe. She looked very much like whore. Could he trust a whore? Hadn't several stolen from him if dared sleep in their chambers? However, this was Lynn, with her strange faceted eyes.
“Very well, I trust you.”
She sighed quietly. “I was hoping you'd say that.” She dropped her hand to his hip, slipping open the buttons of his fly while she kissed him.
He almost laughed. He had stamina, but three times in an hour would be a record for him. The kiss was very sensual, teasing, giving him access to her mouth one moment and denying it the next. Now her tongue darted to touch his, now her teeth were closed. Beautiful teeth they were, with only one missing, a tiny window in her smile.
As her hands played, tickling him more than stroking, his mind began to swim. She trailed kisses down his cheek to his neck and he moaned very softly, her tongue licking him.
A sharp piercing was replaced with a low burn, as though he stood just a bit too close to the fire. Only this burn wasn't in his skin, it was under it. His flaccidity abruptly ended, the fire moving through him from where Lynn had nipped and through his cock, his ass, his toes.
She swallowed and he started to pull away. Her hand on his neck prevented him from moving.
“Please, stop.”
She licked his neck again and sighed happily. “You arrived before I took my share from Kendra.”
The fire in his blood went out and he felt cold. What monster sat beside him? How could so vile a creature, a vampire, appear so...ordinary? “You drink blood.”
She nodded and taking the apple from him, bit into it. “I can eat these too, but I'd never be full. These are here for you,” she explained, putting the fruit back into his hand.
“Do you...kill?”
She laughed. “I could, certainly. Instead I bleed my clients, not unlike physicians did.” She rose and began walking around, tending the banked coals, putting water on the stove. “Tea?” she asked.
“I should go,” he answered, jumping up.
“Remember your contract,” she said, resting her chin in her hand. She seemed disappointed but unsurprised by his reaction. He had discovered the real reason they swore everyone to secrecy.
All the same, he hurried back down the hall, past familiar sounds of pleasure and the occasional scream of pain. It had been alluring before, those screams. Now he worried some fool was being killed.
The blood on the man at the door, his murderous rage.
Harrold swore he would never return to this house of horrors.

  3. So that's how he discovers what they are. I don't think I read this part before even though I remember Kendra and the apple.
